Belton 4th of July Parade 2010

The Live it Foundation was pleased to again take part in the annual Belton 4th of July Parade. There was plenty of water this year. No, not being distributed to the parade watchers by Live it members, but rather falling from the sky in large drops called rain. That did not dampen our spirits however. With umbrellas in hand, members disbursed powdered lemonade drink mix as the bottled water distribution had become saturated by other organizations. Recipients were thrilled with the sweet surprise.

Along with our Segway-riding Uncle Sam and Statue of Liberty, Live it also had a vintage electric blue mustang in the parade. The '72 Mustang is owned by one of our members who also happens to be a Belton resident. He, his wife and two children waved and shared smiles as they drove along the route. And ultimately that was our goal for the day, our family serving and sharing with other local families, all in Christian love.

Live it Christmas Giveaway 2009

Counselors from 3 Killeen ISD elementary schools helped the Live it Foundation bring Christmas joy to 87 children this December. Donations purchased new winter coats, hats, and gloves, additional clothing, shoes, and toys. Several families were provided with needed groceries to help them make it through the month. In the true spirit of Christmas, one woman whose family was helped several years ago sent a generous donation to Live it to be used for Christmas gifts in gratitude for our assistance when her family needed it most. Live it would like to especially thank Brandi Carroll and Laura Dunnells of Cedar Valley Elementary for their tireless help in making sure that many children who weren’t expecting very much had a surprisingly wonderful Christmas.

Killeen Christmas Parade goers were just a little bit warmer on a cloudy and chilly Saturday, December 12. Thanks to the Live it Foundation, 25 gallons of free hot chocolate and French vanilla cappuccino were passed out to grateful and sometimes surprised parade goers. In addition, several cases of water were also distributed. This marked Live it’s fourth year of involvement with the city’s annual parade. As one board member reflected, “It’s fun to get in the Christmas spirit with a warm drink and a cool parade.”

Darnall Army Community Hospital leaders invited Live it members to Fort Hood on July 15 in order to present an Award of Appreciation for Live it's "Babies on Board" program. The Live it Foundation provides brand new car seats to new military moms and dads on an as-needed basis. Board members Debbie King, Sheri Wall, and Sandra Riddle accepted the award on behalf of all Live it members. It is an honor and a pleasure to serve our local military community in this unique way.

Fourth of July Parade Report 2009

Live it members and faithful volunteers headed to Belton, Texas bright and early and distributed 2,000 free bottles of water to spectators and participants at the annual Fourth of July parade. Parade attendees were delighted with both the chilled water and the colorful Live it wristbands that came with the bottles. This is the fourth year in a row that the Live it Foundation has given away water before the parade. We give water away freely just as Jesus freely gave for us. In additional to water distribution, two Live it members, donned in patriotic regalia, rode their Segways down the parade route. Let's just say Uncle Sam was really on the move! Help Needed for Water Distribution - Belton Fourth of July Parade

Posted on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 13:17:07 -0400
In 2008, USA Today named the Belton 4th of July Parade as one of the nation's "Top Ten Places to Fly Your Flag on the 4th" placing it in the ranks of the Washington D.C. Parade. The Live it Foundation will once again distribute free water bottles to thirsty parade spectators and participates. It's a refreshing way for us to remind others of the free gift of living water we can all receive if we just accept and believe. Wouldn't you love to start your Independence Day Holiday by spreading God's love? We need volunteers to pass out water up and down the parade route. The parade begins at 10:00 am but we usually start water disbursement around 8:00 am. Along with that "feel good" feeling that comes with volunteering, you also get a great Live it t-shirt. If you would like to volunteer, send your name and email address to volunteer@liveitonline.org. We will email you back with all the necessary details.

Three-peat Wrap Up

In the true spirit of March Madness, Tim Hawkin's "Three-peat" for our foundation scored big points with the fans. It was a fun-filled night that started with give-aways of DVDs, CDs, and Live it Foundation hoodies. As the evening progressed, Tim's quick wit and musical parodies sent the laughter into overtime. As we watched Tim sign autographs, smile for photos, and visit with the crowd, we knew that he definitely gave us another slam-dunk. If you were at the event, check out the photo gallery and see if you can find someone you know. We at the Live it Foundation are pleased to continuing providing an evening of entertainment for the whole family. Read more...

Special Delivery

The Live it Foundation helped ease the pain of some area women and children for the third year in a row. Spending Valentine's Day in a local shelter is not the grandest way to celebrate the holiday. Festive bags filled with chocolates, red roses, and spa gifts were delivered for the women. The children received bubbles, toys, and of course, candy to help make the day special. Gift cards reminded the recipients that "Nothing can separate you from God's love" (Romans 8:39). And that is a promise worth celebrating, not only on Valentine's Day, but each and every day.
